Dear Comus members,

On behalf of the Comus Board I would like to welcome you to our ’06-’07 season.  This year, Jill Holmes is our President, Brian Finnegan is VP, Kae Unrein is our Treasurer, Kristie Hardesty and Lisa Tatum are Co-Secretaries, Mark Schlicting is Master of Music, Sandie Koplowitz  is Web Master and Photographer and Chip Hilarides is anything else we need him to be.  We will all be there when you first arrive, 7-7:30 pm, to greet you in our receiving line at our first event.  We will have a membership roster and information booklet for each couple at that time.

Our dances are arranged as follows: 

November 17^th, formal dance,

December 15^th, formal dance and guest night (PLEASE note the information below on how to reserve seating for guests),

February 9^th, formal dance and seating draw which is a chance to get to know other Comus members during the dinner hour,

March 16^th, formal dance,

April 20^th, casual dress and guest night.

Dues for the five dances this year are $450.  Please send your check today, payable to Comus, and mail to Kae Unrein at 842 Autumn Lane, Bellingham, WA 98229.   When we begin taking reservations for guests, dues are also to be mailed to Kae.  Thank you.

Guest Dues this year will be $200 $150 for the Christmas dance on December 15^th.  We will have room for 20 guest couples at this popular event and will take reservations at our first dance (not before) the evening of  November 17^th just before you reach the receiving line.  Our capacity is 75 member couples, 80 is our maximum and we are almost there.  When we add guests, we can reach the BGCC maximum as well as an excessively cozy dance floor which is why the spots are limited. We will take reservations at the first dance next month on first-come basis.  Once the list is full, we will create a wait list so that anyone else can register guests when we receive names of those who cannot attend the guest dance. 

For the casual dance on April 20^th, dues will be $150 and you may reserve seating at the dance on February 9^{th .}  If there is still room for guest couples after the receiving line closes at 7:30 for either guest night, we will inform everyone of available seating by e-mail. Kristie and I will take requests after the designated dances by e-mail or phone and guests will be added to the list in the order they are paid for.

Table reservations will be called for two or more weeks before each dance by fabulous Kristie Hardesty through e-mail.  Please be ready before then to tell her if you can OR cannot attend the upcoming dance and the name of at least one other couple you have arranged to sit with.

Sandie Koplowitz has volunteered her time and talent to provide us with our first Comus Club website.  You will find event details, menu, bands, photographs and important phone numbers.  We will share the address as soon as it is finished and also print it in the Roster you receive on November 17^th.
