Hello Comus Members!
We are looking forward to a fantastic 2007-2008 Comus season this year! Prior to the season starting, I wanted to send out a personal e-mail, letting everyone know that the board has solicited feedback from the members, and we have tried to create the best Comus season ever. The board this year is as follows:

The following are the dates that we have booked, along with the bands that are reserved. I appreciate all of Mark Schlichting’s help on working with us again this year, in booking the bands. As usual, all dates are Friday nights:
November 2, 2007: Motown Cruisers
December 14, 2007: Atlantics
February 8, 2007: The Walrus
March 14, 2007: Chryslers
May 2, 2007: Tony and the Tigers
We have also attached an itemized budget for the members review. As you will see, our costs have gone up, and for the 5 dances, the cost will be $600 per couple for the year. This breaks down to $120/per couple/per dance, for a great evening of live entertainment, dancing, great food, and always great friends!
I would like to send out a big Thank You to Sandie Koplowitz, who for the past few years has been gracious enough to take our pictures! However, this year, Sandie would like to transition out of this role. She does know a photographer who is willing to take our pictures for $50/night for both the November and December dances. Let me know if this works for everyone, or if any other members have some suggestions. I think the photos have been a wonderful addition to the club!
Our goal is to get the club to its top membership of 75 couples. We will be sending out personal invitations to all members shortly, and there will be a space on the card to add a name of guests you believe would like to become Comus members. If you add their information on your dues card, I will personally follow up with them. Please note that any guests that have previously been Comus members, will be given priority. We believe that we will only have a few spaces left, so let us know as soon as you can! Spots will be reserved upon receipt of a check for membership. We would like to have all dues received by October 1, 2007.
One final Thank You to Lisa
Tatum, who for the past 8 years, has given her heart and soul to this
club. Without her work, Comus would not
be the classy, fun and special club that it is for all of us. She is transitioning out of the Comus board,
although will continue to be a great resource for the board, as she has too
many other commitments right now.
However, she has agreed to continue to be a member, so we can all see
her huge smile on Friday nights! Thank

I would like to say that it is an honor to serve as your president for this year. It is my goal to make this the best year ever for Comus. The best way for me to do that is to make sure that I receive feedback from the members about what is working best, and constructive ways to make these events better.
